Did you know the pet grooming industry has no regulations? Unlike a cosmetologist, groomers do not require a license and there are no rules governing sanitizing equipment, etc. Please consider this before scheduling your pet’s next grooming appointment. Ask for a tour of the facility before leaving your pet in others care.

Bathing Beauties Mobile Pet Salon Policies

  • I will arrive as close to the scheduled appointment time as possible. However, I will never jeopardize the safety or well-being of any pets by hastening a groom. I will call you and advise you of any change in my arrival time.
  • Your pet’s safety and comfort is my primary concern. Please advise me of any allergies, sensitivities or pre-existing medical conditions so I can make your pet as comfortable as possible. Please let me know of any prior grooming history you or your pet may have found to be less than totally satisfactory. I want to avoid the repetition of poor or unpleasant past grooming experiences.
  • Although Bathing Beauties uses only the finest pet products available, you may have a special shampoo or conditioner that you prefer on your pet. Please allow me to use it to assure comfort and consistency to your pet’s groom.
  • I understand some pets are extremely sensitive to certain grooming procedures, such as nail trimming or ear cleaning. It is not my intent to cause discomfort to your pet. Although these are routine procedures, normally performed for the well-being of the pet, Bathing Beauties will not continue with any grooming procedure that will cause pain or discomfort to the pet. Sometimes, for the overly sensitive pet, these procedures are best left to the care of a veterinarian.
  • Although most pets are very well behaved, not all are “perfect angels”. I understand this and welcome meeting these different personalities as part of my job. However, for the benefit of all involved, I will not provide services for vicious or aggressive attitudes, and I reserve the right to refuse service to these pets.
  • If your pet is excessively matted, I will not demat. I will do a complete shavedown! Excessive dematting is a painful, time-consuming and costly procedure that causes extreme discomfort and can aggravate (or cause) skin problems. Sometimes the pet is so badly matted that the hair must be completely clipped off, allowing new, healthy hair to grow. Excessive matting can be avoided with regular brushing and grooming and we will be happy to show you some brushing techniques for mat prevention.

Questions & Answers

How often should my pet be groomed?

How often a pet is groomed depends on a number of factors. On average, dogs should be groomed every four to six weeks. If you prefer not to be burdened with daily brushing, your dog should be groomed more often. If you like to keep your dog's coat trimmed short, you may be able to get away with more time between professional grooming sessions. It also depends on your dog's breed, coat type and how much time it spends outside. You can check out our recommended grooming schedule page for specific breed information.

Aren’t the fees for mobile grooming more expensive than going to the local groom shop?

You are paying for a specialized service and convience.  For only $15.00 to $20.00 more than an area grooming shop, your pet receives individualized attention and high quality products.   Our service is performed in a much calmer environment resulting in less stress to your pet.  They are not separated from your home all day.  Their exclusive grooming experience will be completed in less than two hours on the average!  In addition to that, you have the convenience of not having to leave your home or use your time and vehicle/gas to transport your pet. You can rest assured that you and your pet are getting the very best service available

Do you need to use my water?

No. I have a completely self-contained unit. The salon has a fresh-water tank and a grey-water tank on board. I will never empty dirty water on your property.

Do I have to be home while you groom my pet?

Until I get to know you and your pet, I prefer that you be home while I am there. Once we have developed a relationship we can make arrangements to work on your pet even if you aren't home. You can be assured of complete client/groomer confidentiality.

Am I required to show proof of vaccinations?

Yes. For the safety of your pet and myself, I do require proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination. Please be prepared to present a rabies certificate showing the date of expiration on our initial visit. While it is not required, I recommend all dogs be vaccinated against Parvovirus and Bordatella (Kennel Cough) particularly if they have regular contact with other dogs. To learn more about these diseases and other animal health issues, please visit www.vetinfo.com

What if I have to cancel my appointment?

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time. Being a mobile service, I only take 4-6 grooming appointments per day. A last minute cancellation cannot be re-filled, resulting in lost income.

If you are not home (unless prior arrangements allow me to retrieve pet) when we arrive for your scheduled and confirmed appointment, you will be assessed a $50 No-Show Fee, per pet.

 Do you accept credit cards?

Not yet. Since I am still new to the "small business world" I am only accepting cash and checks. Payment is due at the time services are rendered. There is a $35 service charge fee for all returned checks. When you write a check to Bathing Beauties Mobile Pet Salon, you agree to pay this fee should your check be returned for any reason.
